Supreme Court advertises for Senior Counsel

High Court[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Supreme Court of Guyana has advertised for Attorneys – at – Law to take up the post of Senior Counsel after more than a decade since the last Senior Counsel was appointed.

The Court in a notice said Attorneys who meet its criteria, which includes over 15 years of active practice at the Bar and are desirous of being elevated to the dignity of Senior Counsel are welcomed to make written applications.

Among the other conditions are that applicants should have expert up – to – date legal knowledge with a record of accurate and relevant application of such knowledge and a record of written and oral advocacy.

Additionally, the job requires a reputation for appropriate deportment, decorum and interpersonal relationships with professional colleagues befitting that of a member of the inner Bar.

Moreover, applicants should possess a reputation for honesty and integrity, particularly with respect to professional dealings with the Court and clients.

Attorneys applying for the post are reminded that applications should be supported by endorsements from at least two referees and should be sent no later than May 30 in sealed envelopes to the Office of the Chancellor.
