[www.inewsguyana.com] – Stella Maris Primary School is the new champion of the Petra organised Courts Pee Wee School tournament after the final concluded on Sunday (November 16), at the Banks DIH Thirst park ground.

Heading into the game as underdogs, Stella Maris played great defence while showing tremendous heart against favourites, St Pius Primary School.

The defence of Stella Maris would allow no goals as both teams ended with shots at the target for a nil all draw.

Penalty kicks was left to decide the winner of the game as Stella Maris, who had a tad more experience in the format, won 2-0.

Meanwhile, South Ruimveldt Primary School won the third place playoff 2-0 against Tucville Primary School.

Keion Marques scored in the ninth and 17th minutes to win the game for South Ruimveldt. Organisers of the event were pleased and stressed that next year will be better.
