[www.inewsguyana.com] – Signs recently erected by the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) to discourage squatting on airport lands were destroyed two days after they were emplaced, according to a press statement from the Ministry of Public Works.

The Ministry noted that this is “an extremely worrying event occasioned by persons who are bent on renewed squatting on areas recently occupied by the Guyana Defence Force for ammunition storage and by the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority for antenna arrays for flight communications.”trepass2

The statement further noted that squatters on airport lands are again warned to desist from this activity because of its implications for the Cheddi Jagan International Airport Expansion project and the maintenance of law and order in the protection of the property rights.

  1. I say charge them a heavy fine and if they can’t pay it then let them do long hours of community service. Sending them to prison is helping them because they eating, sleeping and shitting free. Lots of criminals like the prison life coz they boast about the nice life in there.

  2. The fools who love to destroy public property should be charged and flogged. Whichever comes first.
