Sophia woman dies after being found battered on Ogle public road


Police are investigating the death of a mother of five, in her late 30’s, who lived in ‘C’ Field Sophia.

This publication was informed that the woman, identified as Jasmin Edwards, was found lying on the Ogle, East Coast Demerara road in a battered but alive state on Wednesday evening.

She was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she subsequently succumbed.

Inews understands that the woman was in the company of friends on Wednesday and they were reportedly heading to Buxton to make preparations for an event scheduled for the following day.

“C” Division Commander, Calvin Brutus confirmed that an investigation is ongoing and the friends who were reportedly in the company of Edwards will be questioned.
