There has been no official statement on the origin of the fire but according to residents it may have been the work of an arsonist.
iNews was informed that the 10×7 flat wooden structure, located at West Watooka, Hill Top was without electricity.
Groceries lost in the fire is said to value some $160,000 dollars.
Shop Owner, Clifford Saunders reportedly secured and left the shop at about 21:30 hours and returned about 22:00 hours to find the property burnt completely.
Residents say this is the second time the shop was destroyed by fire. “He always in a problem with people, someone set it on fire maybe, I know he had some problem with somebody over money and this is the second time the shop burn down, first time was his lover,” a resident told iNews in the man’s absence.
