Godfrey Cox, 19, of Princes Street, Georgetown was on Friday further remanded to prison by Magistrate Leron Daly when he reappeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts. He was charged with the offence of armed robbery.

The sex worker pleaded not guilty to the charge when he made his first appearance earlier this month. The charge stated that on June 20, 2018, at King and Charlotte Streets, Georgetown, while being armed with a dangerous weapon – that is a knife – he robbed David Harvey of $65,000 in cash.

The court heard that on the day in question, Harvey was heading to the Shell Gas Station on Regent Street, Georgetown to pay workers when the defendant attacked him, held him at knife point and relieved him of the cash that was in his pants pocket.

The prosecution objected to bail based on the seriousness of the offense and the fact that the defendant has other pending matters of a similar nature in the courts. The matter will call again on August  27, 2018.
