Several persons charged for driving under the influence of alcohol

The Guyana Police Force has indicated that several persons have been charged  for driving under the influence of alcohol.
 A press statement today from the Force listed the particulars as well as photos of those charged:
1.     Vernon Johnson of Lot 33 High Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2016-03-14 while driving motor vehicle GRR 9603 on the Orange Walk, Georgetown. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate Court on 2016-03-16 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $7,500.
2.     Tiffany James of Lot 27 Half Mile, Wismar, Linden, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2016-02-28 while driving motor vehicle PLL 8380 on the Burnham Drive Public Road, Wismar, Linden. She was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. She was charged and appeared at the Christianburg Magistrate Court on 2016-03-01 where she pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $7,500.
3.     George Rutherford of Lot 13 Fair’s Rust, Linden, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2016-02-28 while driving motor vehicle PSS 441 on the Madewini Public Road, EBD. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the Providence Magistrate Court on 2016-06-02 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $7,500.
 
4.     Jaikumar Singh of Lot 9 Golden Fleece, Essequibo Coast, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2016-02-23 while driving motor vehicle PPP 9363 on the Golden Fleece Public Road, Essequibo Coast. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the Suddie Magistrate Court on 2016-03-01 and the matter was reprimanded and discharged.
 
 5.     Altaf Mohamed of Vilvooorden, Essequibo Coast, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2016-02-19 while driving motor vehicle PRR 6940 on the Anna Regina Public Road, Essequibo Coast. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the Suddie Magistrate Court on 2016-02-26 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $20,000. In addition, his licence was endorsed.
 
6.     Raymond Pile of Kingelly Village, WCB, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2016-02-13 while driving motor vehicle PHH 8025 on the Rosignol Public Road. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the Blairmont Magistrate Court on 2016-06-15 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $7,500. In addition, his licence was endorsed.
 
7.     Balkarran Deotadeen who hails from the Essequibo Coast, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2016-02-14 while driving motor vehicle PGG 80 on the Cotton Field Public Road, Essequibo Coast. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the Charity Magistrate Court on 2016-02-15 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $30,000. In addition, his licence suspended for three months.
8.     Ramanan Singh of Lot X Sparta, Essequibo Coast, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2016-02-13 while driving motor vehicle PMM 9428 on the Coffee Grove Public Road, Essequibo Coast. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate Court on 2016-02-15 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $30,000. In addition his licence was suspected for three months.
9.     Ditindra Singh of Lot 42 Lower Kara Kara, Linden, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2016-02-04 while driving motor vehicle GLL 1472 on Greenheart Street, Mackenzie, Linden. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the Christianburg Magistrate Court on 2016-02-09 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $7,500. In addition his licence was endorsed.
 
10.  Bhagwandin Rampersaud of Cumberland Village, East Canje, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2016-02-03 while driving motor vehicle PKK 8495 on the Dun Robin Public Road, No. 19 Village, Corentyne, Berbice. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the New Amsterdam Magistrate Court on 2016-02-05 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $7,500. In addition his licence was endorsed.
