13 hardened prisoners who were relocated from the now destroyed Camp Street prison and housed in the swampy pasture of the Lusignan penitentiary, among the 90 prisoners classified by Public Security Minister, Khemraj Ramjattan, as ‘real bad ones,’ have escaped.
The prisoners, this publication understands, escaped between the period of Sunday night to early Monday morning.
Senior Superintendent, Wendell Blanhum confirmed with the media that 13 have escaped and a manhunt has since been launched.
