[www.inewsguyana.com] – Quamy Bruce was today (March 13) remanded to prison after he appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer a robbery under arms offence.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence, which alleged that on Wednesday, March 12 at Smyth Street, Georgetown, being armed with a cutlass he robbed Ramdin Ramlall, an employee of Jumbo Jet Auto Sales $7,500 cash.

The Court heard that around 04:00 hrs, the Virtual Complainant (VC) was on duty at the said auto sales, when the defendant who was armed with a cutlass demanded that he hand over his money.

The VC indicated that no money was recovered from defendant. The accused denied the allegation stating that he is suffering from an injury to his foot and was only recently released from prison, when the police accused him of robbing the man.

The accused claimed that he never saw the complainant before. He was unrepresented and was remanded to prison until April 3. The accused has no fixed place of abode.
