All of the candidates were present to take the assessment except one who was transferred prior to the supplemental assessment to another Region. The candidates’ scripts are currently being marked and the results for that school will be ready by July 23, 2014.
The investigation is in its final stages and steps have been taken to maintain the integrity of the examination and to ensure this incident does not reoccur.
In recent years, the Ministry established a number of quality assurance mechanisms to ensure that examinations and their subsequent results are of the highest integrity.
It was these measures that allowed the Ministry to identify this problem in the affected area and school. No other irregularities were found in any of the other schools in Guyana.
