Recently released prisoner charged with Break & Enter

Court[www.inewsguyana.com] – A vendor was on Monday, December 21, 2015 placed on $20,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for the offense of break and enter and larceny.

Thirty – five – year old Shawn Scipio of Lot 87 Grove Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on December 14 at Grove, he broke and entered the dwelling house of the Beron October and stole one wallet, $37,000 cash and US$100, property of the said complainant.

The accused denied the charge but noted that he is willing to compensate the complainant for the items. The accused was reportedly released from prison one month ago.

Prosecutor Deniro Jones made no objection to substantial bail being granted and the matter was transferred to the Providence Magistrates’ Court for January 21, 2016.
