Queenstown serial robber jailed for three years

[www.inewsguyana.com] – The man who slashed a woman’s hand and made off with her handbag was sentenced to three years in prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan after he appeared before her charged with five counts of robbery on Friday, December 18, 2015.

Devon Wilson, 22, of Blueberry Hill, Linden was charged with five robberies committed in Queenstown, Georgetown between December 10 and December 17. He pleaded guilty.

On Thursday, December 17, Wilson while armed with a knife, confronted a woman along the roadway and demanded that she hand over her bag. She reportedly put up a fight and Wilson in response pulled out a knife and dealt the woman a chop.

Security guards in the area realised what was happening and discharged several rounds in his direction. He was subsequently apprehended and handed over to the Police.

  1. Granger continues to pardon criminals while these holligans rob/kill innocent law abiding citizens. A frest batch was pardoned just in time for Christmas. Is this man for real. At the rate Granger is going our streets will be filled with criminals.

  2. THREE YEARS? That’s travesty of justice. That barefaced thief, hooligan, vagabon, bandit, scum of the earth pleaded guilty and got off lightly. Will he serve 36 months? Doubt it. That magistrate has rubbed salt into the wounds of that victim
