President David Granger had stated that government is unable to offer higher increases at this point in time.

The final proposal made by the government allows a 10 percent increase for workers earning less than $99,000, a six percent increase for those earning $100,000 to $299,000, a four per cent increase for workers earning $300,000 to $499,000, a four per cent increase for those earning $500,000 to $799,000, a two per cent increase for workers earning $800,000 to $999,000 and a one per cent increase for those earning more than $1M a month.

GPSU had rejected the proposal highlighting that it was too meager and further called for “a real wage” for public servants.
