The Private Sector Commission expresses condolences to the families of Joel and Isaiah Henry and Haresh Singh on account of the tragic loss they experienced.

The PSC reiterates the call upon the Commissioner of Police to execute his duties as head of the Guyana Police Force to ensure all efforts are placed into the investigation of this horrendous crime firmly and resolutely, bringing those responsible to justice.

The Private Sector Commission (PSC) has observed with increasing concern instances of violence and destruction of property amidst the investigation into the deaths of Joel, Isaiah and Haresh. The Private Sector Commission recognizes the constitutional rights of Guyanese to peaceful protest.

We, however, condemn all forms of violent protest, destruction of public infrastructure, robbery and attacks on people that are taking place.

The Private Sector Commission is appalled at the politicization of these murders and we condemn in the strongest possible terms any attempt to incite division. The PSC hereby calls upon the Government to act swiftly in the restoration of law and order. All political and social leaders of Guyana must urge all citizens to refrain from various acts of violence and damage to public and private property, thereby promoting peace, harmony, and good relations.

The PSC appeals to all citizens to cooperate and work with the Police to lend any assistance which may contribute to the efficient conclusion of this investigation.

The PSC remains willing and available to engage the Leaders and the Commissioner on these matters.

Finally, the Private Sector Commission especially calls upon the people of our country to respect and uphold the rule of law and to keep the peace in their individual and collective well-being and in the interest of our beloved country
