Prisoner caught with Marijuana in anus, jailed for 48 months

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Roger Samuels of Punt Trench, Georgetown, was today sentenced to 48 months imprisonment by Magistrate Judy Latchman on narcotics charge.

The 45 – year – old was also fined $10,000, after he pleaded guilty to the offence, which stated that on June 27 at Camp Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession 68 grammes of marijuana for trafficking.

Police Prosecutor, Joel Ricknauth told the Court that the defendant and other prisoners were returning from the Police sports club, when it was observed that Samuels was walking in an unusual manner.

As such, he was taken to medic for an anal examination, when a white plastic bag containing the substance was found. The prosecutor said when Samuels was told of the offence and he responded that “I have to hustle.”

Samuels told the Court that the police planned for him and on that day a medic pushed her hand up his “bamsy”.

The prisoner explained that he is presently serving a four year sentenced on a simple larceny matter with 14 months more remaining.

The unrepresented man said he is a father of three and his child mother is dead.
