[www.inewsguyana.com] – General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C), Clement Rohee says that the Party’s executives held discussions with Health Minister Dr Bheri Ramsaran following the release of two recordings in which the Minister verbally assaulted women’s rights activist Sherlina Nageer.

Though the Party has stated that the issue was blown out of proportion, Rohee told reporters at a press conference on Monday, April 27 that Ramsaran was “sanctioned” by the PPP executives; however he was unable to state what form those sanctions took.

“We have sanctioned the comrade…he was spoken to very seriously,” Rohee proffered when questioned on the issue by reporters.

He also pointed out that whether Ramsaran resigns or is removed from his Ministerial post is left up to the discretion of President Donald Ramotar.

President Ramotar has already signalled his intentions to have further discussions with Minister Ramsaran over the statements that were made against Nageer.

The Private Sector Commission (PSC) has already sounded a call for the embattled Health Minister to gracefully tender his resignation to the President.

“We believe that his behaviour warrants the sanction of the President and we are looking for the President to take the right actions necessary,” Private Sector Chairman Ramesh Persaud said when questioned about the incident on Friday, April 24.

Meanwhile, Public Relations Consultant, Kit Nascimento explained that the PSC is cognizant that the choice of a resignation either wilful for forceful is within the realm of the President but is hoped that a resignation is forthcoming pending the discussions with the President.

Both of the recordings have sparked public outrage and protest with the US and UK envoys stating that had such happened in their respective countries, the Minister would have been expected to resign post haste.

  1. Green, no one needs to fool you, you have done that to yourself by being a PPP apologist. The lady speaks more intelligently than your hero Jagdeo. Your continued insistence on her having “pnc handlers” is based on your conditioned mindset, i.e., anyone trying to hold the PPP govt accountable are labelled PNC. See what Indra Chandarpal’s organization said about the incident and what the minister should do. http://www.kaieteurnewsonline.com/2015/04/28/do-the-decent-thing-and-resign/

  2. hairy..u could ah fool me…i never see educated people run around like playing ketcher wid police..but if u say she educated more than members of ppp then her pnc handlers making rings and making a foolish fool of your educated woman..no ?????

  3. If the PPP did not seek justice from the so called criminality of the PNC then either they were negligent or there was no wrong doing. People like you should not continue to harp about criminality of the PNC when your PPP did nothing to seek justice.

Anyway, after May 11, 2015 when the PPP is kicked out of office, the courts will deal with Jagdeo, Irfaan, Anil and the rest of you blood suckers.

The first thing is that Cadillac pension will be repealed retroactively and Jagdeo will have to repay all the money took from the poor taxpayers. Then a proper commission will be set up and a forensic audit will be done of PPP overnight millionaires. The other retribution measures will follow swiftly.

  4. Mother Sally, You and I should talk Politics over lunch. That is if you can be honest and condemn PNC for their evil and wicked ways the same way you criticize the PPP for example. Google: “Then top cop Winston Felix and PNC official discuss planting drugs on PNC female”
Please admit that Then Police Commissioner was a drug dealer!
Please Admit that PNC MP was a drug dealer!
Please Admit that both PNC MP’s are drug dealers!
Why is it that no Women rights activist spoke against “Planting drugs” on my sister?
How come all PNC and AFC are silent on this matter?
My sister could have been you despite she is a PNC.
Now Sally, can you be fair?

  5. Mr. James or whomever you claim to be – please note that I do not belong to any political party nor I am a card carrying member of such. I am interested in the truth because this is what will prevail in the end – let us all for once and for all, please do try to be fair and objective.
Can you in all fairness with your hands upon the Holy Quran, Holy Bible, The Bhgawad Gita or even The Torah say with conviction that the PPP regime is not a corrupt, shameless, self serving group of despised parasites?

  6. Mother Sally, You state “people are literally fed up with the criminals in power and cannot wait long in enough for the day of reckoning” The way you put over yourself confirmed the claim of one bloggers that you are not the mother you claimed to be , but you are really Sherlina.
Now Mother Sherlina Sally, I would like to point you to some real corruptions since you boast of corruption. Please Google: “The Winston Felix and Basil Williams Tape”
Also. “Felix captured on tape making firearm deal”
Does that sound criminals enough for you?
Does your then PNC commissioner who was in power sound CRIMINAL to you?

  7. Every wrong will be righted.
The same way how PNC wrongs were corrected including wiping out the debt from the blak ole.

  8. The respective envoys of the US, Canada and Great Britain have already taken a principled stand against the the threat of violence and gross disrespect shown by the demented, so called Minister of Health – one Dr. Bheri Ramsaran towards the innocent and peaceful human rights activist – Sherlina Nageer.
The mere fact that Bheri-Bheri Ramsaran continues to occupy his ministerial post and is a candidate for the despotic PPP in next month’s general elections is totally unacceptable by all decent accounts.

What crap is the General Secretary of the PPP – one Cement Roti trying to heap upon the people of this country by claiming that he was spoken to seriously. No one cares whether he was spoken to seriously or not but are only interested in Bheri- Bheri’s immediate and unconditional removal from the cabinet and also from the PPP’s list of candidates. Sherlina Nageer will more than likely be taking legal action against Bheri-Bheri so it is interesting to see how much further in the face of growing international condemnation that Ramotar, Jagdeo and his wench Varshnie Singh can continue to defend the remorseless actions of Bheri Bheri.

In case Rohee, Ramotar and the Soup Magnate (Clinton Urling) are not aware – people are literally fed up with the criminals in power and cannot wait long enough for the day of reckoning on May 11th to arrive to boot you bastards out of power.
Enough is Enough and as the saying goes…It is Time may I add to Rescue the Nation from the pestilence of the PPP.

  9. I agree with you that the minister should resign unequivocally but that is where our agreement ends. Contrary to what you and the PPP wants everyone to believe, Ms Nageer is far more educated and well spoken than many in the PPP and therefore cannot be manipulated by anyone. She has a right to question the minister’s presence on the picket line while on the taxpayer’s dime and when his energies should have been directed to more pressing needs within his ministry. It is typical of the PPP to vilify and denigrate those who are opposed to it’s excesses and question their records. The voters will speak to that on May 11th. Meanwhile, please see how President Obama gracefully responds to a heckler.

  10. Election time is here and we know we have to vote, so let’s stop wasting time on attitude personality and behaviors and focus on Development.
Let’s look at PNC Bankruptcy against PPP Growth, Development and Prosperity.
Do we want PPP to continue to Modernize Guyana? OR
Do we want PNC to to take us back to the dark age?
Do we want Chicken and basic food items to be as Luxury or Necessity?
In 1992 when PPP took office the treasury was empty and Guyana was completely Bankrupt, Minimum wage was $65.00 per day and it couldn’t buy a pound of chicken.
Today a mason day pay of $5,000.oo can buy 25 pounds of chicken.
A taxi man take home range from $3,000.00 to $12,000.00 per day.

  11. Azd u talking like u know nuff. Y u don’t dig up all d skeletons in d opposition closets. See who really needs to be charged coz dem didn’t only talk. ..they did what they wanted. Blame the whole party for one man’s mistake how typical.

  12. There is zero accountability in the leadership of this guy so resignation is not an option. Another in your face of “cuz out” politics as they stick their middle finger in the nation’s face.

  13. its simple as this..he must resign now…not fuel pnc fire anymore..they will take out their anger on the indians for this..then it become something bigger than this dr..he is a clown…he is a public servant and fell for pnc trap so what else will he fall for..he resign now..so whats left for pnc to protest march ..what i would like to see happen is..decent minded women should show this pnc drugged up tattooed queen she does not and will never represent them..nageer is another pnc thug sent out to do what she did..she is not a decent woman in carrying on like she did..

  14. Yeah. De PPP tell Bheri fuh wait till elections done fuh seh/do dem things again.

Bheri Ramsarran’s shamelessness is a reflection of the entire leadership of the PPP.

The only one dem ask fuh resign is Ganga Persaud. But dem mek sure the police aint charge he.
