[www.inewsguyana.com] – The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) says it has noted with disgust the continuing attacks on the state media and media houses perceived to be friendly to the ruling PPP/C administration.

General Secretary of the PPP, Clement Rohee told a news conference on Monday, November 17 that “it seems that the only information that is considered acceptable and newsworthy by APNU is that which is anti-PPP or anti-government. This explains its obsession against sections of the media and its hysterical call for a boycott of those media outlets that refuse to play up to their nefarious agenda.”

During its rally at Square of the Revolution on Friday, November 14, APNU Member and Parliamentarian, Dr Rupert Roopnarine called on Guyanese to boycott the state controlled National Communications Network (NCN) and the Guyana Chronicle newspaper.

He also chided privately operated Guyana Times and told citizens not to purchase the local daily.

In response, the PPP says it is encouraging all Guyanese to ignore such calls “which are clearly misdirected and are much more relevant to the opposition media.”

  2. Hello MR. IGNORANT, I have everything I need. I have been toiling for over forty years now. I have manage to survive the dictatorial rule of your father and his cohorts. I suggest you choose your words wisely next time. You have people out there who may/can come down to your level. If you want a discourse, you can have one. Debate can be good. But people like you wouldn’t play fair. Why are you annoyed? Why are you so irritated? Do you always allow your behavior to be so childish? I’m sorry that you don’t know. My question to you would be. Are you a teachable person? If your answer is yes, then you need to listen to the older folks that survive under the PNC dictatorship.

  3. P.P.P. Petulant PusillanimousPestilence: Guyana needs a total overhaul of government. Get rid of all the present parties, these people have become redundant, there is no NEW thing that will come from any of them. Let’s take a stand NOW!

  4. Guyanese always knew what the PNC stand for. The PNC always hate Guyanese, so much so that they even tried to starve us as a nation. Those days under the PNC was unbearable, and when the night come for us to rest, the PNC goons (bandits) would come with big,big army guns and rob us and kick us with boots that Harmon and Granger was wearing. Now these up to no good set of evil minded elements wants to kill the free press and stymie development anyhow they can. What a shame! Am I surprise? No! I put nothing pass the PNC.
I have a question for and/all AFC traitors! In1992 when the PPP took office how much money was in the treasury? Today under the same PPP how much does the treasury has? I dare any AFC traitors to answer this correctly.
