Poultry farmer charged for fraud, placed on $100,000 bail

A poultry farmer who used money entrusted to him for his own benefit,  was earlier today (Wednesday) brought before Magistrate Fabayo Azore.

Mohammed Khan, 22 of Independence Boulevard, Georgetown was made to answer to the charge at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

That charge alleges that he on June 26 2017 in Georgetown, while being solely entrusted with $500,000; property of Steve Rogers to deposit same into a Republic Bank Limited account, converted the money to his own use and benefits.

Khan denied the allegation brought against him, pleading not guilty to the charge.

However, the Prosecution revealed that the defendant has no prior convictions and no pending matters.

He was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 and is scheduled to make his next Court appearance on August 22 2017.
