[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Milo Under-20 School Football tournament kicked off on Saturday (January 31) with its march past and opening ceremony at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

With only six schools showing up for the march past, Director of Petra Organisation, Troy Mendonca expressed his disappointment with the turnout but urged the players to play positively.

“To the player put your best foot forward and play the game…it is difficult to put together such a tournament so I want to urge the players to appreciate it and may the best team win,” Mendonca stated.

Milo Brand Manager, Renita Sital was proud of the schools involved and highlighted that all the students are champions.

“I just want to let you know that Milo is the food drink of champions and it does not matter the outcome you are all champions,” Sital said.

The tournament started with four games on Saturday and will continue on Sunday with another four.
