Street lights[www.inewsguyana.com] – Walking along certain streets in Albouystown can be done with a little more relief as the Ministry of Public Works and the Guyana Police Force installed a total of twenty street lights.

The lights were installed at Punt Trench, Victoria Street, Sussex Street, Calendar Street, Campbell Street, James Street, Garnett Street and in the vicinity of the Health Centre.

The move, according to Public Works Electrical and Road Safety Engineer Lallram Seeram, is an extension of the West Demerara Lighting Project. He told iNews that the lights were left over from the project and they considered a request made by the Guyana Police Force through ‘A’ Division Commander, Clifton Hicken.

Commander Hicken explained that the move was also facilitated by members of the community and the faith based organisations within Albouystown. [Leroy Smith]
