[www.inewsguyana.come] – Investigations are being conducted into an incident that occurred at a night spot at Tabatinga, Lethem, Region Nine.
Reports are that at about 03:15 hrs today (Saturday October 25), Assistant Superintendent of Police Deolall Rooplall was shot and injured to one of the toes of his left foot while a patron at the night spot.
Police say their investigations have so far revealed that the Police Officer intervened in an altercation among a group of men when shots were discharged.
He was struck to his foot. He was treated at the Lethem Hospital and sent away.
A man attached to a private security service has been arrested and a .32 pistol seized as the investigations continue.
