[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Police Force has confirmed that a Police Sergeant is under close arrest after he was caught with a 9mm pistol with 14 matching live rounds.
Reports indicate that the Officer was found with the illegal weapon last Saturday night while he was attending a wedding at Cane Grove. In a statement, the Police Force denied reports that the rank discharged the weapon indiscriminately during a drunken spree.
According to the statement, “The Guyana Police Force would like to state that while the Police Sergeant is indeed under close arrest as the investigations continue in order to ascertain the circumstances under which he came into possession of the firearm, it is refuting the allegation that the rank discharged the firearm during the wedding celebrations.”
