The Guyana Police Force (GPF) moments ago slammed the Guyana Chronicle for an article published today under the caption “Mocha, Lodge residents die in minibus accident” pointing out that the information is inaccurate and misleading.

chronicleAccording to a police press release, the first part of the article stated that Kevin Roberts of Norton Street, Lodge, died last night (Wednesday February 17, 2016) at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

According to the GPF, the Chronicle article also inaccurately stated Roberts passed away about five hours after he was struck down by a minibus while riding his bicycle along Norton Street, Georgetown.

“This information is incorrect. The Guyana Police Force is clarifying that the accident which resulted in the death of Kevin Roberts occurred since May 01, 2010. The driver of the minibus, Bryan Howard, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving on May 04, 2010,” said the police.

According to the press release today the abovementioned matter was dismissed on March 05, 2012, owing to insufficient evidence.
