Police discovers illegal gun, ammo, ganja during search of house at Linden


– one acre plot of land cultivated with Cannabis Sativa destroyed


One man has been arrested following a search of his residence by police ranks which unearthed a firearm along with ammunition and a substance suspected to be  Cannabis Sativa (marijuana).

According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), ranks attached to its  ‘E’ Division acting on information received visited a house at West Watooka Hilltop in Linden, where they conducted a search.

A .38 snub-nosed revolver and five (5) rounds of 9mm ammunition were found along with four grams of suspected Cannabis Sativa. As such the male occupant was arrested and charges are to be instituted shortly.

The police stated that shortly after this, acting on further information, the said team of officers went further up West Watooka Hilltop and found a one acre plot of land cultivated with Cannabis Sativa plants measuring 1-7 feet, along with 10×12 tarpaulin tent. Both the Cannabis Sativa plants and tent were destroyed. No one was arrested.
