Police detain six in connection with grenade outside of KN

Law enforcement officials have arrested six men and seized a motor car early today as investigations continue into the lobbing of a grenade at the vehicle of Kaieteur News Publisher, Glenn Lall, last Saturday.

lallIn a statement today, police say that relative to the investigation into the grenade attack at Kaieteur News, detectives from the Guyana Police Force (GPF) after reviewing surveillance footage have detained a motor car matching the description and six suspects.

INews understands that the suspects were arrested in the wee hours of this morning at different locations. They are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

The Private Sector Commission (PSC) today strongly condemned the attack on Kaieteur News saying if  this is a heinous attempt to muzzle the media, such actions have no place in our democratic society. The PSC also urged the GPF  to expedite their investigation so as to bring the perpetrators to justice in the shortest possible time.
