[www.inewsguyana.com] – Ryan Stephney led the Pitbulls to their second consecutive Mackeson 3-on-3 basketball title and the first “King of the Rim” title when the Mackeson “King of the Rim” 3-on-3 basketball tournament concluded on Friday evening at California Square.

Stephney used his killer crossovers to get to the rim where he was fouled repeatedly as the Pacesetters ‘A’ team entered early foul trouble and lost the game 17-15.

The foursome of Stephney, Akeem ‘The Dream’ Kanhai, Ryan Gullen and Jermaine Slater were dangerous with the pick and roll system especially with Stephney as the ball handler.

The Pacesetters ‘A’ was unable to get enough stops on the defensive with a six point lead midway through the game. Their foul situation did not help either as free throws were a major factor in deciding the winner.

Stephney would end with a game high 11 points in the final with as MVP like performance.

“We have great chemistry, we been together for a long time and since last year we air marked this, so we came and got it,” Stephney stated after the game.

Meanwhile, Mackeson Brand Manager, Jamal Douglas was pleased with the tournament. “It was a really great tournament, a really great final and we are pleased with what we have see, next year we are going to come bigger,” Douglas noted.

The Pitbulls are now $500,000 richer and will aim three-peat when the tournament rolls around in 2015.
