[www.inewsguyana.com] – Pilot, Orlando Charles and his passenger are lucky to be alive after the Britten Norman Islander plane they were in crashed upon landing this morning [Monday, July 7] at the Monkey Mountain Airstrip.

Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Public Works, Aneka Edwards told iNews that there were no injuries. She explained that the aircraft took off from the Ogle International Airport for Omai, after which it traveled to Mahdia and then to Monkey Mountain where it crashed.

The cause of the accident is not yet known as investigators are scheduled to visit the scene later in the day.

  1. Thank goodness no one was hurt. Our BRAVE Pilots work in some very unfriendly Skies over Guyana. And many of those inheritor airstrips and not properly maintained. Those Pilots are TOPS.
