Persons responsible for creating mayhem should be held accountable – GCCI

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) said that while it stands in solidarity with all those who are peacefully demanding accountability and justice for the senseless murders of Joel and Isaiah Henry, and now Haresh Singh, those responsible for creating mayhem should face the full force of the law.

“The pain, anger and frustration are evident and understandable. However, the GCCI strongly condemns destructive elements, and all those who attempt to further inflame an already volatile situation, either through words or actions,” GCCI said in a statement on Wednesday evening.

According to the GCCI, those who attempt to exploit the rightful outrage over the Henry boys’ death by engaging in violence and other destructive activities should be held accountable and dealt with under the law.

“As we seek justice, let us recognise that it is critical for communities and law enforcement to work together.

“We call on the public to protest peacefully and respectfully and to desist from engaging in any activity that will endanger the lives of fellow citizens and encumber law enforcement from continuing its investigations,” the statement added.
