Pedestrian dies after being hit twice by drunk drivers on Ruby public road


A male pedestrian who is yet to be identified was this morning (Saturday) killed in an accident on the Ruby Public Road, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) after he was reportedly hit by two vehicles.

Based on police information reaching this publication, motorcar PRR 459 was proceeding west along the southern carriageway when it struck the pedestrian who was allegedly walking in the center of the road.

Immediately after, another vehicle, PWW 6353, which was also proceeding in the same direction, collided with the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was rushed to the the Leonora Cottage Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

INews understands that the drivers, both of whom were allegedly found above the legal alcohol limit, are in custody assisting with the investigation.

The pedestrian’s body is currently at Ezekiel Funeral Home.
