[www.inewsguyana.com] –  Given the current crime situation facing the country, Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee is of the view that the Guyana Police Force (GPF) needs to pay more informants and intercept more telephone calls, if there is to be a reduction in crime.

When questioned about the issue on Monday September 30, Minister Rohee said, “If these matters are to be reduced then we have to heighten gathering of human intelligence, pay more informants, intercept telephone calls, with the permission of the court, of course,” the Home Affairs Minister said.

Meanwhile, in relation to the most recent execution style killing of 33-year-old Shelliza Basir-Lall aka Shelly, Rohee agreed that it was a ‘hit.’ There is no way where in the whole of Kitty, or whole of Georgetown, a group of criminals would go to an exact location and go to an exact table and target an exact number of people. These type of murders are well planned.
