POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING[www.inewsguyana.com] – Hours after stepping off a plane at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), an overseas based Guyanese man was shot five times about his body by bandits who were hiding in wait for his arrival.

According to a police report, at about 09:30 hrs on Tuesday, April 21 83 –year – old Glendon Cadogon was entering the home of his sister at Shirley Field-Ridley Square, Georgetown when the bandits pounced.

Police say that investigations revealed that Cadogon had travelled from the CJIA and was confronted by three men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, who drove up in a motor vehicle as he was entering the yard.

The men held up Glendon and demanded a bag that he had in his possession. He resisted and was shot to his abdomen and left arm. The perpetrators then escaped with the bag which reportedly contained some important documents and a quantity of cash.
