One person is now dead and several others injured following a collision between a minibus and a motor car at Richmond village, Essequibo Coast, late last night.
Reports are that around 23:30hrs (Friday) the two vehicles were heading in opposite directions and smashed into each other close to a turn on the public road.
According to Commander of Police “G” Division, Kevin Adonis, stated that this has resulted in the death of one passenger who was in the minibus at the time of the accident and a number of other passengers being rushed to the Suddie Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
All of the persons who were taken to the hospital are presently being treated for their wounds. It is unclear at this point in time as to how many passengers are in critical condition.
INews understands that both drivers of the vehicles are presently hospitalised.
Police investigators have launched a probe into the matter.
