Norton Street man remanded for threatening to kill sister

A man on Thursday appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts slapped with two charges – threatening language, and threatening behaviour.

lawCalvin Brown, 21, of Norton Street, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charges which alleged that on February 22, 2016, he made use of threatening behaviour, and threatened to fill his sister, Lashana Barker.

Police Prosecutor Seon Blackman told the court that the virtual complainant and the defendant live in the same house and that on the day in question, the defendant pulled a knife and threatened to kill his sister.

The Prosecutor stated that if the defendant is placed on bail he will continue his behaviour as he has a habit of verbally abusing the VC.

The sister told the court that the defendant has no control and when he loses it and there is no telling what he can do.

As Barker was relating the matter to the Magistrate, the defendant began behaving disorderly. As such he was remanded to prison.

The case will continue on March 29 2016.
