[www.inewsguyana.com] – Transport Minister Robeson Benn says there has been no sighting of the missing Air Services Limited Aircraft that went down yesterday (Sunday, December 29) somewhere in Mahdia, Region 8.

During an interview with iNews, Minister Benn said that the search and rescue teams have “triangulated” an area of interest after miners in the area reported hearing and seeing an unusual aircraft activity in relation to the missing plane.

He said that there are currently three choppers and two aircraft which are searching the identified area.

Timehri Air Traffic Control lost communication with the Britten Norman Islander 8R-GHE that was operating on a flight between Mahdia and Karisparu, Region 8 (Potaro/Siparuni).

Captain Nicky Persaud, 27, and a Loader Mr. David Bisnauth, 51, were onboard the twin-engine aircraft. [Leroy Smith]
