The hosts and favourites, India, were moments ago thrashed in the first game of the Super 10 phase of the World T20 cricket competition after New Zealand come back from a sketchy batting effort to bowl and field brilliantly.

Chasing New Zealand’s modest total of 126/7, India lose nine wickets to New Zealand spin trio of Michael Santner (4/11), Ish Sodhi (3/18) and Nathan McCullum (2/15) and lose the World T20 opener by 47 runs. Earlier, New Zealand never got going with the bat and some tight fielding by India restricted them to 126/7 in Nagpur.
