NEW GPC launches new products at Pharmacists’ Convention

The Guyana Pharmacists’ Association held its 15th Annual Pharmacists’ Convention on Sunday June 12th, 2016 at the Marriot Hotel in Georgetown.

The convention, touted as the largest gathering of Guyanese pharmacists, was attended by hundreds of pharmacists.

Dr. Shamdeo Persaud, Chief Medical Officer, delivered the feature address and declared the event open.
The event featured presentations by medical practitioners speaking on three particular areas of interests; OTC in Paediatric Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Thyroid Disorders. Also making presentations at the convention were sponsors of the event, which included; POEM, Mead Johnson, Federated Pharmaceutical, ASPEN and NEW GPC INC.

Mr. Michael Stuart, representing NEW GPC, made an informative educational presentation on Fever, Cold and Flu Management in Children, which laid the platform for the introduction of the company’s new Children’s Phanadyl Multi-symptom Cold and flu.

Participants had the opportunity to visit the sponsors’ booths and interact with their representatives during the breaks. NEW GPC unconventional display booth, in particular, received an influx of interest with pharmacists and doctors gathering to get a closer glimpse of the newly launched products.

The Children’s Phanadyl Multi-symptom Cold and Flu, Xcite Sildenafil Citrate tablet and BabyCare Gripe Water were among the top products of interest. Other notable mentions include; Atorvastatin, Atenolol and Metformin Hydrochloride tablets.

Many of the persons who visited NEW GPC booth interacted with the representatives providing valuable feedback while benefiting from merchandises and samples from the first batch of Children’s Phanadyl Multi-symptom Cold and flu.

The Children’s Phanadyl Multi-symptom is an extension of the popular PHANADYL brand. The brand includes the Phanadyl Tablets and Phanadyl Paediatric elixir, which is widely distributed through the public healthcare system and administered to children across the length and breadth of Guyana.
