A birthday celebration was marred last night (Thursday) when persons who were at the event learnt that one of their relatives died after being involved in an accident on his way home.
Reports are that Karamchand Singh a.k.a ‘Bobby’ of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was riding his motorcycle (CG 4185) in the vicinity of the Good Hope Village, ECD public road when he allegedly collided with a Toyota X-Trail along the Railway Embankment.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota X-Trail (PSS 9646) managed to escape the clutches of death last night when the accident occurred.
One of Singh’s daughters told INews this morning that her father had left home in ‘good spirits’ to celebrate his nephew’s birthday in the Lusignan village, ECD.
She stated that when her family received news of Singh’s death, they could not have come to grips with the fact that he will no longer be there for them.
“Our family is not too good because it is very shocking…he left yesterday good good…no words can’t comfort…he is actually my stepdad, he has two children of his own and four stepchildren in all, but he was a very nice person, always give good advice, always there whenever you need him,” she tearfully stated.
INews was told that Singh’s Post Mortem (PM) examination was conducted today and it was revealed that he died as a result of severe injuries about his body.
Meanwhile, police ranks are presently conducting investigations into the matter.
