According to reports, the father of one had borrowed his friend’s motorcycle on Thursday evening to go to purchase food a short distance from where he lives. Leitch reportedly made a stop at a popular hangout bar in the area known as “Wash Bay” where he met up with friends and was allegedly seen imbibing.

Reports indicate that a woman identified as ‘Soldier’, who had been among the group of friends, requested Leitch to take her on a “ride”. It was during the alleged joy ride that he met his demise.

The now dead man was reportedly speeding when he collided with the horse. His female companion was pitched a few feet away from the point of collision but escaped with minor injuries.

Leitch was then taken to the Port Mourant Hospital moments after the accident where he was pronounced dead on arrival. According to the dead man’s mother, Sandra Bascom, her son suffered severe injuries.

“When I see my son, his head was beat in, his chest part was short, one of his hands twist up and behind his head was dented in,” the very emotional and traumatised woman related.
