[www.inewsguyana.com] – Youth For David Granger (YDG) kicked off its rallying for the elections season with a grand rally at Turning Point Tucville, on Friday March 27 where the youths of A Partnership For National Unity (APNU) registered their dissatisfaction with the rate of development under the People’s Progressive Party/Civic administration over the last 22 years.

Nia Gonsalves, one of the youths from the group, made it clear that while the current administration boasts of development, certain basic necessities are still lacking in very essential sectors.

“Mosquitoes eating us for tea, breakfast, and dinner,” she said adding that “today there is too much neighbour against neighbour, brother against brother, parents against child, politicians against politicians, public servants against public servants and we have all suffered from it, we are better together; we are better with an APNU/AFC government.”

Meanwhile, Brian Smith, the National Secretary of the Guyana Youth and Student Movement (GYSM) for his part decried the current situation at the University of Guyana pointing out that students of UG have to sit on floors and lectures are getting poor wages.

“Mr Ramotar has decided that ‘it is unlikely that I will attend’ a debate by the UGSS because he has some bad taste in his mouth…I am a student and I have experienced PPP development – poor wash rooms, poor class rooms, poor laboratory systems – that is the PPP I know about for 23 years…I cannot understand how the President can deny the youths, the young people of UG an audience,” Smith said to a loud burst of applause.

He encouraged the crowd gathered to ensure that come May 11, Guyanese exercise their democratic right by way of the ballot.

Additionally, APNU/AFC Youth Candidate Malika Ramsey said the APNU/AFC in the tenth Parliament managed to “cripple and slow down the rate at which the PPP has been damaging the country through the parliament.”

“In the past three years the APNU and AFC have served as watchdogs for the people of this nation and watch dogs for the youths of the nation,” Ramsey said.

According to her, both David Granger and Moses Nagamootoo have now set a standard and the youths of the coalition will be present to ensure that they live up to those standards.

Ramsey was vocal in pointing out that the youths will play a pivotal role in an APNU/AFC government should the coalition win the elections.

“I dare the PPP/C to present ten competent members of the PYO – they’re so called youth arm – who are willing to publicly speak on their government’s behalf and defend its 23 year record without being told what lies to come and tell us,” she said.

  2. Dennis McKenzie, Are you thinking out of your rear? Did the Minister spend the money on the country or on his personal house? By the way who gives you the right to call Indian people dumb? You are referring to the PPP as jokers. Can you or any of your PNC Jumbies match President Jagdeo? You EVILS hate the Doctor because you cannot be him! The gentle man is everything you MvKenzie and your entire PNC/AFC would never be!!!!!!!! Whether you like it or not we will continue to work, build and develop. There are plenty like you who feel the world owes them. No body owe you anything! Why don’t you come and join with us in the modernization of Guyana. After all we can do with some goats. McKenzie, for your information we are not dumb. We are builders, and developers.

  3. According to the former president,Ashni is not a thief, after allegedly spending 4.5 B dollars that were not authorised by Parliament, but because Greenidge bought a property for 4 million dollars,is he one?was Greenidge working for buttons or peanuts?

  4. Ha! Malaika plz. Assess ur competence first.i have never seen u do anything other than running your mouth of whatever granger and his pack of vagabonds cook up in their very shallow and narrow minds. When we win back the majority in parlaiment and progress continues then we will slap u in the face with our “so called competence”. I pity the people with the mentality like urs.

  5. Malika Ramsey, How dare you say such evil things about other youths? Are you better than us? That’s Burnham talking in you! You’re manifesting Burnhan demons! Your leader Granger said he cannot trust Nagamootoo, and now they are happily married. Granger is the danger man and Nagamootoo is the big belly wife.
Also Khemraj Ramjattan, said “joining the PNC is dead meat” and now Ramjattan is in bed with Granger. the older folks of the PNC has really corrupt the minds of their youths. Now for the next twenty years to come no one of the PNC/AFC must be trusted!! Now “mosquitoes eating you PNC for tea breakfast, and dinner” Really?
Well the Government wrong to build the “MOSQUITOES”
They wrong to implement the “neighbor against neighbor” STRATEGY.
“brother against brother” (crum killer against crum).
“parents against child” Really? How many parents against which child?………..”we are better with APNU/AFC government” are you serious? “we are” are you people mad? Brian Smith, what are you really studying? Are you mad too? Who cut the money that the PPP Government allocated for the University? Who? Who cut the budget? Who? Who did fool? Are you a parrot? You should go and work in Burnham farm!
