[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 31-year-old fisherman of Lot 132 First Street Mocha, East Bank Demerara was released on $40,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, after he pleaded not guilty to a fraudulent conversion charge.

The Court heard that Seepaul Lakeram was on April 7 at Houston, East Bank Demerara, entrusted with $190,000 by Jarmin Dharma, to purchase groceries.

It is alleged that Lakeram fraudulently converted the money to his own use.

He was placed on bail and the matter was transferred before Magistrate Annette Singh for April 27.
