The duo was stabbed to death on Sunday morning at Leopold Street and Lombard Street respectively by Samuel Bristol, who subsequently committed suicide.
Members of the gay community picketed the company’s headquarters today at Le Ressouvenir, East Coast Demerara and are claiming that had the MMC personnel not transport the assailant to the location where the victims were, they would have been alive today.
iNews was told that when the MMC vehicle pulled up with Bristol in the vehicle, the officers were heard saying “some of them does deh here too , look one deh right deh.”
Bristol had earlier showed up on North Road and later King and Regent Streets where he attacked some commercial sex works. However they put up a fight and he was rescued by the MMC personnel.
A senior official of the company described the actions of the MMC Officers as rogue, if indeed the allegations are true. The official also assured that in addition to the police investigation, the company is conducting its own internal investigations.
