Missionary attacked, robbed on Church St.

Detectives in ‘A’ Division are investigating a robbery under arms, which occurred about 13:00 hrs on Friday, June 03, 2016, committed on Otis Smith, a Missionary attached to the United Pentecostal Church in Georgetown.

robberyAccording to reports, the 48-year-old Missionary was attacked and robbed by two males, one armed with a handgun, on Church Street, Georgetown.

Police say investigations disclosed that the victim had just left an office in Church Street, when the suspects drove up in a motor vehicle. The armed assailant then exited the vehicle, dealt the victim several lashes to his head and shoulder and relieved him of around $190,000. and escaped.

No shots were fired, and the suspects are yet to be arrested.
