[www.inewsguyana.com] – A minibus conductor was granted $100,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to her face.

Nigel Payne of Durban Street, Georgetown, denied that on April 20 at Kingston, Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Trevisha.

The Court heard that the woman was on the seawalls with some friends when Payne approached and indicated to her he was ready to leave. She replied that she was not ready to go which angered Payne.

According to the Prosecution, Payne then broke a beer bottle and cut the left side face of his girlfriend. Bail was granted and the matter was adjourned to May 08.

  1. bail was granted..how much..the other day a lady was placed on 40000 $$ bail for cussing out with another woman..

  2. Such raw violence literally in the face of another young woman. This guy should be given a stiff prison sentance. Wishing Ms Trevisha a speedy and full recovery.
