Minibus conductor charged for beating driver

Thirty – one – year old Rene Scott, a bus conductor was fined $20,000 for two offences when he appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday (September 11).

Scott pleaded guilty to both charges namely, fighting and disorderly behaviour. The allegation states that on September 10 at Brickdam Public Road, Georgetown he was involved in a fight with Bruce Guillian.

The prosecution’s case is that on the day in question, the accused who is a bus conductor and the complainant who is said to be a minibus driver were involved in an argument which led to the accused chucking and cuffing the complainant.

Rhe Magistrate fined the accused $10,000 for the fighting charge and $10,000 for the disorderly behaviour charge. [Royan Abrams]
