Miners granted bail on Break & Enter, Larceny charges

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Two miners charged with break and enter and larceny, were today placed on $160,000 bail each by Magistrate Judy Latchman.

Twenty – four – year – old Anthony Rogers and 33 – year – old Michael Lawrence both of Sand Road Soesdyke, Linden Highway, pleaded not guilty to the charges, one of which alleged that on August 26 at Kuru Kururu Soesdyke, Linden, they broke and entered the dwelling house of Derwin Cantabury and stole one Blackberry cellular phone, one Plum cellular phone, two bags of clothing, one Gold Band, one hair iron and $10,000 in cash, together valued $117,000.

Particulars of the other offence alleged that on August 26 also at Soesdyke, Linden Highway, they broke and entered the dwelling house of Rita Hyman and stole n one NG 950 Generator valued $19,000.

Both men were represented by Attorney – at – Law, Paul Fung – A – Fat, who made a bail application. Both men will make their next Court appearance on October 18 at the Providence Magistrate’s Court.
