(CMC) — Police in Trinidad are probing the death of a 29-year-old pregnant woman, who was battered to death by a mentally ill man on last night in Mayaro, south east of the island.
Police said that Stacy-Ann Campbell, a mother of four children, who was eight months pregnant had gone to visit a neighbour when the man, who has since been detained by police, grabbed her as she was about to leave the house.
The suspect is reported to have picked up a red clay block and hit her in the face repeatedly, killing Campbell on the scene.
Neighbours are reported to have subdued the suspect and handed him over to police.
