Mechanic found guilty of armed robbery

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Mechanic was found guilty of armed robbery and will return to Court on March 16 for sentencing, pending a probation report.

Quason Roberts, 22, of Tucville Housing Scheme, Georgetown was found guilty by Magistrate Judy Latchman for the offence which stated that on October 18 at East La Penitence, Georgetown, being in company of another person, armed with a gun, he robbed Teresa Fredericks of Samsung Galaxy cellular S5 phone, one purse and $10,000 cash.

Roberts was also charged with two other offences of robbery under arms; however they were dismissed. One of the dismissed charges stated that on October 18 at East La Penitence, he robbed Jermaine Knights of one Primo Motor car valued $2.8 M.

The other dismissed charge stated that on the same day at East La Penitence, being armed with a gun he also robbed Knights of one Samsung touch cellular phone and $43,000 in cash.
