The Children’s Mashramani costume parade will boast for the first time ever, 60 marching bands and a display of dancers, known as cheers. The costume parade will take off from Parade Ground at 10:00 today and end at the National Park.

DSC_2642The display, after moving off from Parade Ground, will head East on Middle Street then North into Camp Street and East into Lamaha Street. It will then move North into Albert Street and finally go through the South Eastern gate into the National Park, Thomas Lands.

The cheers are students from the Lodge Secondary School and they will be performing at intervals during the parade.

Big names in the designing industry joined with schools, parents and teachers in designing the costumes to make this experience an unforgettable one.  It is expected that today’s presentation will be of a higher standard.

The costume parade culminates the children’s aspect of Mashramani celebrations, except for the child art competition as a few regions will be doing this later this month.
