A bodywork technician was murdered this morning in the presence of his girlfriend on the Railway Embankment in the vicinity of Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Orrette West, of Guyhoc Park, was with his girlfriend around 00:30h today (Friday) when an argument erupted between the deceased and an unidentified assailant over a fight the two had some time before.
It was during this row that the assailant pulled out a knife and fatally stabbed West in the region of his left side chest and escaped, said the police.
The suspect is still on the run and police ranks from “C” Division are continuing investigations into the murder.
