[www.inewsguyana.com] – A man was remanded to prison for the murder of 33-year-old Jules Walker of Ogle Front, East Coast Demerara.

Walker’s body was recovered in the Princes Street canal in close proximity to a koker that facilitates drainage into the Demerara River on August 12 after being missing for several days.

Dillon Glasgow was not required to plead to the capital offence when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. It is alleged that between August 11 and 12 in Georgetown, he murder Walker.

According to reports, Walker disappeared following a heated disagreement with Glasgow at a popular city hangout spot.

Police Prosecutor Bharrat Mangru told the court that on the night in question the accused and victim were seen hanging out in the area where the body was found.

The accused was picked out during an ID parade and subsequently arrested and charged. He was refused bail will return to court on November 04. [Royan Abrams]
